Framing - Near Completion

We're getting close to finishing up the framing. All the interior walls are in place, which makes moving through the second floor pretty exciting. Rough in for the electrical and HVAC is ongoing. There are a few framing issues to deal with to make space for the larger air ducts from the new second floor furnace. We're all doing our best to integrate everything seamlessly.

The roof is now complete and water tight with new asphalt shingles. Sun tunnels were installed in the roof for the closet, shower and hallway and will provide a generous amount of natural light in those areas.

Ceiling framing is complete in the bedroom. We decided to furr the ceiling down 5 1/2" from 9'-6" to allow a bit more flat surface area. This gives the recessed lights more room to spread out and catch the corners.

The stairs have been widened and lengthened to meet code, but also to provide more room for frequent trips up and down. The existing kitchen has been demolished and all cabinetry has been removed. All the new cabinetry has been approved so hopefully within a few weeks the installation will begin!
